1994-95 NUMAR Oilfield Services, Senior Log Analyst. Performed immediate analysis of nuclear magnetic
resonance and conventional wireline log data for client companies, was responsible for log quality control and solution
of operational log analysis issues, and implemented new methods for sales presentations using computer graphics.
1987-94 ARCO Oil and Gas Company, Exploration Data Acquisition Group Member. Jim performed
immediate analysis of log data from exploration wells for casing and completion decisions for the South Louisiana
district. He also computed critical drawdown pressure predictions to avoid sanding problems in offshore wells and rock
strength parameters from log data for the design of fracture programs.
1983-86 Sun Exploration and Production Company, Staff Log Analyst. Jim completed studies of log data for
prospect generation and fracture analysis of reservoirs. He supervised critical offshore logging operations and organized
log analysis for basin studies in offshore Gabon and Timor Sea.
1976-83 Dresser Atlas Wireline Services, Open-hole Logging Engineer. Jim was responsible for
recording electric logs on drillings rigs, located both onshore and offshore in the Gulf Coast, USA. He also later
performed routine and specialized log interpretations at the Rocky Mountain Computing Center. He achieved the status
of General Engineer.
1980-81 Tyler Junior College. In the role of an instructor in the Petroleum Technology Department, he taught various courses on petroleum industry topics, relating to both exploration and production practices.
