Well Performance Analysis

Production optimization requires a thorough understanding of reservoir inflow performance and wellbore transport. Scotia's engineers have extensive experience in pressure transient analysis and well performance modeling using Nodal analysis. The combination of these two analytical methods along with a strong theoretical knowledge of the physical principles involved, has allowed Scotia engineers to successfully design and analyze tests of wells all over the world. In addition to in-house software, Scotia utilizes the programs Saphir and WEM under commercial licenses.

Well Performance Analysis

Saphir is a comprehensive well test interpretation program that is capable of analyzing pressure transient tests run under shut-in or flowing conditions in both production and injection wells. Saphir allows the use of conventional analysis methods in addition to type curve and advanced regression analysis techniques. Saphir includes an extensive catalog of well models and reservoir models with numerous boundary conditions.

Well Performance Analysis

WEM (Well Evaluation Model) is a versatile well performance program that uses the Nodal analysis technique to model flow characteristics for flowing, pumping or gas lifted wells. WEM includes all of the fundamental inflow equations for oil and gas wells, ten wellbore outflow correlations, and six completion models. In addition, WEM is designed to model flowlines traversing hilly terrain.
